We have discussed in class and decided that the two Brady Bunch episodes: ‘Our son the Man’ and ‘The Liberation of Marcia Brady’ convey 4 main Social Values:

That all races are created equal,
That the man is the head of the household,
That boys and girls should have equal opportunities,
That the family is an important unit in society,

Describe how one of the representations in the text you have studied this year is constructed to reflect a social value of the text’s production period.

In order for you to do well in this outcome, you need to be fully aware of what life was like during the production period of the text we are studying.

Brady Bunch Television Series late 1960’s -early 70’s. Episodes ‘The Liberation of Marcia Brady’ and ‘Our Son the Man’.

Create an information base on the website looking at Cultural, and Political issues of the 60’s-70’s.

•Cultural- Music, Festivals, Fashions, possessions etc

•Social- ‘What did life look like?

•Political- Historical events, movements/ uprisings, wars etc-

Upload a brief overview so that others can learn from your research use links or images. Alternatively, if you have trouble, create a handout for the class.
